An important aspect of being a good business owner, is being prepared for any situations that may come your way. For each challenge that comes your way, a solution needs to be brewed in order to keep the business running as smooth as possible.
There are two things we can prepare for: What can be Expected & What cannot be expected.

How do I prepare for change?

Firstly we look at the “What can be expected?”

In order for us to know this, we look at previous months and years of the pharmacy DATA. This is available to you with research on market trends, seasonal patterns, the “Changes” that come with living in South Africa and lastly your WeCare APP or Rhains Reports. If you have run out of stock on an item, have you got a plan to get your customer their medication within 24 hours? Compile the findings of your data to prepare for the changes that will be coming to you in the future. E.G: Spring Time, Holiday trends in your area and Festive Holidays.

 

Preparing for “What cannot be expected?”

This is a lot harder, as you may spend countless hours looking at what “unknowns” the world may throw your way. Rather be prepared and not need it, then a circumstance hits you and you do not have the preparation for it. Looking at the previous 2 years, we have had to deal with a pandemic, rioting, flooding and days without electricity or water. These are elements that are out of our control, but we have made it through with a bit of preparation and determination. You can also group your preparation categories, E.G. Back-Ups will help with: Theft, Flooding, Power Surges and Old/Faulty Hardware.

Pharmacy Owner,

…is start preparing now to thrive in the months and years to come. Add your preparations to your business strategy, and create objectives that you can work towards, this way you will always be 2 steps ahead.
